Looking for a
destination that offers real terrain, year-round adventure and a deep
connection to nature? The Swedish mountains deliver all of that — and more.
From snow-covered
winter ridges to endless summer trails, the Swedish mountains offer a unique
blend of accessibility and wilderness. It’s a place where beginners and
experienced alpinists alike find space to move, think, and breathe — often far
from crowds and noise.
This is terrain
that asks for movement. Whether you're ski touring over frozen plateaus or
hiking along a summer ridgeline, you’re part of the weather, the silence, the
scale. There are no gondolas up here. No lines. Just space — and time.
It’s not terrain
that flatters the casual. But for those who crave stillness, solitude and big
days outside, the Swedish mountains hold a special kind of pull.
The Scandinavian
mountain range runs like a weathered spine along Sweden’s western border —
stretching from Kebnekaise, Sweden’s highest peak, down through Sarek,
Sylarna, Helags, and all the way to the rolling fjälls of Fulufjället
and Sälen in the south.
But here,
“mountain” means more than elevation. In Sweden, we say fjäll — wide,
treeless highlands shaped by ice, wind, and weather. Unlike the dramatic
verticals of the Alps, the Swedish fjäll is a place of scale, silence and
subtlety.
A few things
define the experience:
In the far north,
Sarek and Kebnekaise offer true alpine challenge: glacier travel,
couloirs, and untouched wilderness. Áhkká, rising in solitude in Stora
Sjöfallet, stands steeped in Sámi legend. Further south, places like Vindelfjällen,
Grövelsjön, Norra Sytertoppen, and Storvätteshågna deliver
landscapes that are immersive but more accessible — ideal for ski touring, long
hikes or multi-day trail runs.
Many of these
regions are part of protected national parks and nature reserves, and that
means two things: fewer crowds, and a strong sense of stewardship. The trails
are often unmarked, the huts minimal, the phone signal gone. It’s not extreme —
it’s real.
This is where
Elevenate began — and still operates today. Åre blends lift-accessed
terrain, backcountry ski touring, and alpine energy in one place. It's our home
ground, and where we design and test every garment we make.
In the Swedish
mountains, the weather changes fast — and so should your gear.
At Elevenate, we
didn’t design outerwear for a market — we designed it for our backyard. The Swedish
mountains shaped how we ski, live, and build gear. Every seam, zip and panel is
made to perform in the conditions we face daily.
Explore our mountain
gear for men and women.
Wherever
you're headed — the Swedish mountains are already waiting. Go prepared.
