Different fabrics need different kinds of care. Washing your products correctly can both contribute to reducing their environmental impact and extending their life.
We prioritize functionality, durability, and timeless design, ensuring that each product stands the test of time. By adhering to these principles, we aim to reduce the need for frequent replacements. Much like the careful thought we invest in the creation of our products, we encourage you to approach their care with the same level of consideration. After all, the lifespan of your gear is a reflection of the care invested in it.
Care Instructions for GORE‑TEX
Care Instructions for GORE‑TEX
Taking good care of your GORE‑TEX garments is easy - and that includes washing your waterproof GORE-TEX outerwear and non-waterproof clothing from the GORE-TEX INFINIUM™
Wash at 40°C on a gentle cycle. Use a down-specific liquid detergent or a liquid detergent. Tumble dry on a cool setting for 1–4 hours, checking the garment every 30 minutes. Carefully turn it inside-out and spread the down by hand. Do not use tennis balls because they may break the down. After drying, hang it in a cool place for a day and fluff up to ensure the down is completely dry. Be patient while your down garment is drying, and do not store it compressed so it retains its warming abilities. The Organotex biocare wool & down wash is a perfect match for your down and Wool products.
Synthetic mid-layers, fleece
Synthetic mid-layers, fleece
Wash at 40°C on a gentle cycle using liquid detergent. Line or tumble dry at a low temperature. When you wash a synthetic fleece garment, use a special bag that collects microfibres so you reduce the amount of microplastics released to the ocean and also keep your garment protected from wear and tear. We recommend Guppy bags.
Airing your wool garment after each use will reduce the need to wash it. We recommend the Organotex biocare wool & down wash for our wool garments. When machine washing, do it on gentle cycle and low temperature, preferably on a wool program with wool-specific detergent. Do not use a softener, as this will interfere with the garment’s ability to manage your body temperature and moisture. Do not tumble dry. Dry your garment flat.
Wash inside out at 40°C with similar colours. Line or tumble dry at a low temperature and reshape whilst damp. Iron on the inside if printed.
Things You’ll Need:
Washing Machine
Liquid Detergent
Dryer are recommended. Iron, towel or cloth are an option if no dryer is available
Water Repellent Treatment if you need to restore water repellency
Wash
Step 1: Before washing, zip the front, pockets and pit zips completely. Fasten any loose flaps and straps.
Step 2: Machine wash (105°F/40°C). Use a small amount of liquid detergent. Rinse twice and minimize spinning. Don’t use powder detergents, fabric softeners, stain removers, or bleach. Don’t wash with heavily soiled clothing.
Dry
Step 1: Tumble dry on a warm gentle cycle or line dry your outerwear. Don’t dry at a high temperature.
Step 2: Once dry, tumble dry for a further 20 minutes to reactivate the durable water repellent (DWR) treatment. If a dryer isn’t available, iron the garment on a gentle setting. When ironing, protect the garment with a towel or cloth. Don’t use steam. You can do this step any time you notice the water repellency needs a boost.
Re-Apply
Step 1: If water doesn’t bead and run off after washing, you’ll need to reapply a durable water repellent (DWR). Use a DWR product of your choice, available as a pump-spray or a wash-in product.
Step 2: Following application, tumble dry your garment for 20 minutes to activate the DWR treatment. Or iron the dry garment on a gentle setting (warm, no steam), placing a towel or cloth between the garment and the iron.
